The other day, I was looking at my Warhammer models and I really wanted to write a story based on warhammer fantasy. I have two armies, the Tomb Kings and the Wood Elves. The Wood Elves are my favorite, but I think a story about the tomb kings would be interesting.... but Wood Elves first!
I looked at the model of my general, who is a Waywatcher Lord. The waywatchers are archers that guard the outskirts of the forest. I had the desire to write more about my general and make him into an actual character. I always thought it would be cool to have a character be captured by an enemy army. Wood Elves are ALWAYS on the defense, because they never leave their forest. A lot of people are drawn to the forest, though, because it has incredibly potent magical energy. An undead army attacked once to obtain the magic or whatever... I don't really remember... and it's a problem, because the undead general keeps reincarnating and attacking over and over (but it takes a few years for him to actually start another attack).... but this forest is THE most magical place in the entire world (of warhammer)so a lot of people will be drawn to it. Right now I'm thinking the dark elves should attack and kidnap him, but there is also the Dogs of War (entire mercenary army), humans and Chaos. Chaos are the most evil army, so they would be cool. Undead wouldn't keep slaves. They'd just kill him.
I was also thinking about actually having a completely different general, who is a Branchwraith. Basically, it would be like a dryad. Dryads are awesome in the game! I'll post pictures of them when I get home. They are shapeshifters, and take the form of like... a tree-ish creature when they go into war, and they can take the form of an elf and stuff like that. They're really evil, too! They're described as having cold, vengeful hearts. They sometimes turn into elf form and lure humans into the forest and murder them. They're not nice (^_^);;;
